Today is a great day.
Make way, roll out the red carpet and light the spotlight!!!
Today is the "boss day", or rather, it is the day of the launch of Chief of Design.
Chief of Design is a blog about design and web. We will discuss this topic by trying to pass on information to you in a slightly different way and, which we hope will be more efficient.
But first of all it's important to know what each of these things is.
What is Design?
Much is discussed about the definition, etymology and use of the term "Design".
I don't want to go into this clash, so I get a definition, which I like, and that seems very clear and succinct of Monica Moura in the book "Faces of Design":
"Design means having and developing a plan, a project, means design. It is to work with the intention, with the future scenario, executing the conception and planning of what will come into existence. Create, develop, implement a project – design – means researching and working with cultural and aesthetic references, with the concept of the proposal. It is to deal with the form, with the form, with the configuration, elaboration, development and monitoring of the project"
It is also to visualize something that has not yet been done and/or transform what already exists.
It's creating, it's reinventing.
What is Web Design?
Web Design is nothing more than applied design for web interfaces. It's as simple as that.
It is an offshoot of Design, as well as Graphic Design, Interior Design, etc.
Therefore, apply the entire definition described above only for web.
And also add concepts of usability, accessibility, screen resolutions, web standards, typography and web content, information architecture, HTML/CSS, among others.
The Chief of Design
Our intention is to contribute, mainly, with those who are starting in the area and who are looking for learning and answers to their doubts in relation to this medium.
I've also been through all this and I know how it is. That's why this blog, so this idea of trying to do differently.
Often what will be seen here may not be new for those who already have some knowledge in the area, but even for these people I hope that the blog will serve as a space for knowledge exchange and a channel of reference and interaction.
We want to make an X-Ray about Design, Web Design, showing, analyzing, proposing, discussing and contributing to these segments.
We want you to become a Chief of Design.
So I invite you to follow our updates, like our profiles on social networks (links to them) and participate commenting, giving ideas and sharing knowledge.
See you in the next articles.
See you next time!
